When i was new to the system i used to ask experts about optimize WordPress Performance and used to get answers sometimes funny, sometimes very accurate and sometimes which is beyond expenses….
After working on the wordpress sites, Servers and Few techniques i come to know some of the inside tricks which can give you a way high performance and if you do expenses on server hardware then it will give you blazing performance. Let’s take a look at the possibilities, server hardware & insides.
Case 1
Low Traffic WordPress (Less than 25K Pageviews Per Month)
Solution
Choose any Hosting Plan and any Hosting Company since you dont have high traffic its not recommended to have your own VPS and add expenses.
You can also implement Amazon CDN with your WordPress for best performance for FREE (Amazon Only Allows 25K HTTP Request per month and 5GB Data Storage) – To setup check out my this article
1. Try to use light theme and keep less plugins as possible.
2. Install W3 Total Cache Plugin and do the settings as shown below
>> Install the Plugin & Activate
>> Click on the “Performance” >> “General Settings” link on the sidebar to be taken to a page where you can configure W3 Total Cache as shown in screenshot below
>> Enable the “Page Cache” by checking the checkbox & Select “Opcode: Alternative PHP Cache (APC)” from the drop down list.
Please Note: If you are on VPS & configured it for properly then only it will show you the option, otherwise select “Shared Server – Disk” From drop down list as shown in screenshot below.
>> Enable the “Database Cache” by checking the checkbox & Select “Opcode: Alternative PHP Cache (APC)” from the drop down list.
>> Enable the “Object Cache” by checking the checkbox & Select “Opcode: Alternative PHP Cache (APC)” from the drop down list.
Please Note: If you are on VPS & configured it for properly then only it will show you the option, otherwise select “Shared Server – Disk” From drop down list as shown in screenshot below.
Click on Save All Settings & It’s Done. You have configured W3 Total Cache Plugin perfectly. But make sure if you make some changes in the website and it didn’t reflecting on the front end then you should clear cache by clicking “Empty Page Cache” as shown in the screenshot below.
